World Day of Social Justice marks a crucial UN day in establishing and promoting equal opportunities for all people, irrespective of race, religion, gender, culture, disability or ethnicity.
In a world where there is sadly an ever increasing level of exclusion and inequality, it is important, now more than ever, to ensure that everyone has the right to lead a fulfilling life free from social oppression.
Injustice targeted towards communities or individuals based on religious, ethnic or cultural differences not only ostracizes them from wider society but plunges them into deep-rooted poverty without the means to escape or earn a livelihood.
Al-Khair Foundation is committed to upholding social justice by providing sustainable solutions to root out the causes of poverty. This ethos is at the heart of many of our livelihood projects, including our handicraft centres and prayer mat factories in Pakistan.
This World Day of Social Justice, we’re vocalising the importance of battling social injustices and giving vulnerable people the tools they need to escape poverty and build a better future for themselves and their families.
