Al-Khair stands united with everyone internationally against terrorism. It is indeed a sad day when places of worship are brutally and without remorse targeted. Such atrocities reinforce our beliefs, that we must stand steadfast, against all forms of extremism. We cannot allow these incidents to divide us. It does not go amiss that one of the first Muslim families who settled in Christchurch, New Zealand came from India in the 1850s.
Now, more than ever, we must strive to build bridges between communities and reach out to one another. Our thoughts and prayers (duas) are with all those effected by the terrorists attacks at Al-Noor Mosque and Linwood Mosque in Christchurch New Zealand. It is incumbent on our policymakers to ensure that Islamophobia is taken seriously as a form of prejudice with serious consequences.
At 11am today, Al-Khair Foundation, IQRA TV, and Al-Khair school held a 1 minutes silence and a prayer was led by Imam Qasim for the victims of the Christchurch attack, and their families.
