Al Khair Foundation has launched an urgent appeal after at least 207 people were killed in a series of Easter Sunday terrorist attacks on churches and five star hotels in Sri Lanka.
The eight blasts targeted landmarks in Colombo and on the east coast of Sri Lanka leaving over 450 injured. At least five Britons are among the dead.
Al Khair Foundation launched an immediate appeal to offer aid to the victims and families of the co-ordinated attacks.
Chairman and Founder Imam Qasim Rashid Ahmad said: “We condemn these appalling acts of violence against innocent people and stand united with Sri Lanka.
“No one should be targeted because of their religion and as we all did after the attacks in New Zealand last month we must all stand together to defeat the extremists.
“We are already working on the ground in Sri Lanka to identify needs and will offer whatever support or assistance is needed to the families and victims.
“Everyone is affected by this. In humanity, we are all brothers and sisters in one nation regardless of whatever faith we have or follow.”
