"We have indeed revealed this in the 'Night of Power'. And what will explain to you what the night of power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months. Therein come down The Angels and the Spirit by Allah's permission, on every errand. "Peace!... This until the rise of Morn!" -Surah Al-Qadr

The Night of Power is the most venerated night of the Islamic calendar. During this night, Angel Jibril revealed the Holy Qur'an’s first verses to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This night falls within Ramadan’s final 10 days, and although the exact date is unidentified, it is commonly thought of as the Holy month’s 27th night. However, the believers are advised to seek this night in the last 10 odd nights of Ramadan, following the example of the Prophet (PBUH). It is reported that the Prophet (PBUH) said: “Seek Laylat al-Qadr in the last ten days of Ramadan.”[Bukhari and Muslim]

Laylatul Qadr, often referred to as the Night of Power or Decree, is a special and immensely significant night in the Islamic faith. It occurs during the last ten nights of Ramadan, with the exact night undisclosed, although it is believed to fall on an odd-numbered night, particularly in the last ten nights.

Laylatul Qadr holds unparalleled importance, as the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) on this night. The Quran describes it as "better than a thousand months" (Quran 97:3), emphasizing the extraordinary nature and spiritual value of this night.

Muslims believe that on Laylatul Qadr, the angels descend, and the divine decree for the coming year is revealed. It is a time of profound reflection, prayer, and seeking forgiveness. The Night of Power is an opportunity for believers to draw closer to Allah, engage in intense worship, and seek blessings and mercy.

Many Muslims engage in extra prayers, recitation of the Quran, supplication, and acts of charity during Laylatul Qadr. The devoted search for this night is a testament to its exceptional significance in the Islamic calendar. Muslims believe that sincere worship and supplications on Laylatul Qadr can lead to the forgiveness of sins and the fulfillment of heartfelt prayers.

Given its immense value, believers are encouraged to seek Laylatul Qadr with sincerity, devotion, and a humble heart, striving to make the most of this blessed night during the sacred month of Ramadan.
