“Indeed, We sent the Qur’an down during the Night of Decree (Night of Power). And what can make you know what is the Night of Decree? The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months. The angels and the Spirit descend therein by permission of their Lord for every matter. Peace it is until the emergence of dawn.???
Qur’an (97)
In these last few days of Ramadan, Allah (SWT) has blessed us with a night like no other — Laylatul Qadr or the Night of Power — whereby any form of worship performed on this night is equivalent to 1,000 months or 83 years of worshipping Allah the Almighty! Not many of us can say with conviction that our life is dedicated to pure, uninterrupted worship of the Creator, yet on the last 10 days of Ramadan we have been provided with a unique opportunity like none other!
Although the exact date of Laylatul Qadr is unknown to us, what we do know is that it can fall on any of the last odd nights of Ramadan, giving us the possibility of five potential nights! Any form of ibadah performed on these nights, be it reading Qur’an, praying nawafil or even giving in charity, it is as if we have committed to it for 83 years! Imagine the reward of giving in charity in Ramadan, now imagine the reward of giving in charity for 83 years and receiving that reward all in one special night! This is an opportunity not to be missed!
