Supporting the unregistered Rohingya people in Bangladesh, with 1,000 emergency food packs targeting on maternal health.
Anwara Begum (31) resides in the Balukhali Camp in Ukhiya, along with her 4 children and husband. Anwara Begum’s 4 children were suffering from malnutrition. She heaved a sigh of relief after receiving the food pack, as her family would no longer not have to remain hungry all-day long – with a month’s food security ensured. The Rohingya people here have no belongings, no resources or no earning resources. They start their day with uncertainty of food supply and end their day with hunger. In this circumstance, the AKF initiative made the beneficiaries relieved.
The UMN camp is inhabited by large numbers of unregistered Rohingya people, who have no access to income and limited basic provisions to meet their needs. Life in the overpopulated village has become more precarious in the aftermath of cyclone Mora. AKF’s project fulfilled its target of distributing 1,000 food packs, containing a month’s food supply to the benefit of 6,000 individuals. Each food pack contains: Rice- 20 kg, Lentils- 2 kg, Oil- 2 kg, Potatoes- 3 kg, Onions- 3kg, 100 TK spice and Salt- 1 kg.
