Turkey & Syria Earthquake Appeal

The worst earthquake in Turkey since 1999

Today at 4.17am (GMT+3), a 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck Turkey and Syria.

Ten days have passed since the earthquake that struck Türkiye and Syria, killing or injuring thousands occurred.

Now millions of people are struggling to pick up the pieces of what once was their home.

While search and rescue efforts continue, official reports indicate that more than 1800 deaths and hundreds of injuries. Hundreds of homes were destroyed or damaged, along with public infrastructure, including schools and mosques.

In this difficult time, Al-Khair Foundation affirms its solidarity with the Turkish and Syrian people and its emphasis on providing humanitarian aid to those affected by the effects of the earthquake.

An annihilating earthquake has struck Turkey and Syria, causing widespread destruction and leaving countless of families facing death and destruction on an unprecedented level.
The magnitude 7.8 quake, which hit before sunrise, in bitter winter weather, was the worst to strike Turkey and Syria this century. It was followed in the early afternoon by another larger quake of magnitude 7.7.

So far the earthquake has claimed more than 25000 lives, injured almost 100,000 people and destroyed thousands of homes. At least 70,000 people are still missing with many more trapped in the rubble following the collapse of many buildings.

Families are seeking safety wherever they can with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Entire communities have been made homeless
