THE CAUSE

Team AKF embarks upon the mission to summit KILIMANJARO supporting ‘Greatest Need Appeal’ https://alkhair.org/d/greatest-need/. The adventure filled expedition is dedicated to raise vital funds for the poorest and most distressed humanity that harkens for the daring hearts to relieve their suffering.

• Conquer the famous ‘Roof of Africa’
• Embrace a truly life-changing journey
• Follow the uncrowded Lemosho route to the peak
• Trek through five incredible, unspoilt eco-systems
• Walk above a stunning sea of clouds

At a colossal 5,895m, Mt. Kilimanjaro is one of the largest volcanoes to ever break through the Earth’s crust. Our challenge is to clamber above the sea of clouds to its summit.  We begin in the lush rainforests of the Lemosho Glades, climbing towards the Shira Plateau – is the perfect spot to acclimatise. From here we can see our goal: the ice-capped peak of Kibo. We follow the impressive Southern Flank, Barranco Wall and Barafu Route to the summit.

HOW WE DO IT

Team AKF in partnership with CHARITY CHALLENGES UK will be administratively supported throughout the duration of this Challenge. Fundraising Pledge and Options. Set up your Fundraising Page at www.justgiving.com , select Alkhair Foundation as the Charity and manually enter the event as ‘ Kilimanjaro Summit Challenge’. After creating the fundraiser page please share the link with your supporters and at [email protected]. Choose your preferred fundraising pledge for the options below and start fundraising.

SELF FUNDER

Pay a non-refundable registration fee of £595.00 when you book. Then a balance  of £2,805.00(10 weeks before your challenge).Raise as much as you can for Al-Khair Foundation.

MINIMUM SPONSORSHIP

Pay a non-refundable registration fee of £595.00 when you book. Raise a minimum

of £5,725.00 for Al-Khair Foundation.

FLEXI

Pay a non-refundable registration fee of £595.00 when you book. Then £595.00 towards challenge costs (10 weeks before your challenge). Raise a minimum of £4,510.00 for Al-Khair Foundation.

Spaces for this challenge are limited and available on first come first serve basis.

It will be best to register as soon as possible however the last date for Registration for this challenge is 18/09/2022. The participants must complete their fundraising targets by 18/10/2022 to join the expedition in Jan 23.

Note. The costs of this event include all known levy and taxes. However in view of the ongoing Ukraine Conflict any fuel surcharges levied by airlines will be an add-on if the situation arises.

The minimum age  to participate is 18 years. There is no upper age limit.
