Al-Khair Foundation – Winter Ben Nevis Challenge 2023 is a quest synonymic with Alkhair Foundation’s ‘Winter Appeal’.TeamAKF ventures animated efforts to stand-up and show solidarity and support towards vulnerable humanity at risk of perishing against winter hazards and hardship. The objective of the expedition is clear and simple!! ‘To raise Funds to provide essentially needed assistance in order to keep those at risk – Warm, Sheltered, Fed and healthy against the challenging Winter Season.

THE CHALLENGE
• Summit Ben Nevis (1344m), the UK’s highest mountain, in winter!
• Learn key winter walking skills including the use of crampons & ice axes
• Two nights’ accommodation in beautiful Glen Nevis
• Incredible winter challenge
• View the Scottish Highlands covered in snow!

Challenge yourself to reach the summit of the UK’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis, in winter! This incredible winter challenge is set over an entire weekend. On the first day of the challenge, you will be taught all the skills you will need in order to complete the challenge. From kicking steps in the snow, to using crampons and ice axes, our instructors will help you develop key skills for tackling the hills in winter. And there is no need to worry about buying expensive kit as it will be provided for this challenge.
After learning these skills you will then attempt to reach the summit of the UK’s highest mountain.

Registration.
To be a part of this challenge, goto www.alkhair.org and sign up to register by filling out the online form and paying £50 non-refundable registration fee. Be mindful to click the up/down arrows to ensure the number of tickets you are registering. For example, if you are registering as an individual only click for 1 registration ticket. If you are registering a group of participants click the appropriate number of registration tickets before confirming for payment. Pay the proportionate amount @£50 per individual participant being registered.
Note. There are limited spaces on this challenge and will be allocated ‘First Come First Serve’ basis. Itinerary and detailed instructions about the challenge will be sent by email on completion of registration respectively.
Fundraising Pledge – Options
Goto www.alkhair.org and click the Winter Ben Nevis banner. Please read carefully before you choose any of the following options.
Option-I: Self Funder
a. Pay £50 Registration Fee(Non-Refundable) and £300 lump sum to ensure confirmed space on the challenge.
b. Raise as much as possible for Alkhair Foundation ,Winter Appeal, by setting up a fundraising page on www.justgiving.com/alkhair. Share the link to your fundraising page with us by emailing [email protected]
Option -II: Minimum Sponsorship
a. Pay £50 Registration Fee(Non-Refundable) to ensure a space on the challenge.
b. Raise a minimum sponsorship target of £500 for Al-Khair Foundation Winter Appeal, by setting up a fundraising page on www.justgiving.com/alkhair Share the link to your fundraising page with us by email on [email protected]
c. By registering for this option, you agree and pledge to fundraise minimum £500 before or by 17 March 2023 to ensure your space on the Winter Ben Nevis Challenge 2023.
d. Note. Fundraising pledge of £500 is the minimum limit in this option, any funds raised beyond £500 will be gratefully accepted to support the cause.
Participation. UK citizens of any gender.
Age Limit. 18 and above, in case any participant has any age related medical condition or any underlying symptoms he/she will be required to furnish a FITNESS certificate duly endorsed by their GP atleast 2 weeks in advance.
Insurances. All participants will be covered under West Coast Mountain Guides insurance ONLY during the training and actual ascent.
