Every year at AKF, we carry out Qurbani sacrifices on behalf of generous donors, at our own AKF farms. The sacrificial meat goes towards feeding some of the poorest families all over the developing world. Raising our own livestock ensures that we can keep Qurbani prices low during Eid ul-Adha. This increases the value of every donation and allows us to distribute to more people.
In Year 2020, AKF Country Offices along with Partner Organizations mitigated the challenges faced by them during the lock down and successfully implemented Qurbani – 2020 programme by sourcing/ selecting healthy animals, slaughtering and ensuring distribution to the needy families, by following the government guidelines of health & safety.
Al-Khair Foundation benefitted more than 3 million individuals across 21 countries (Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, Palestine (Gaza) Yemen, Somaliland, Kenya, Gambia, Uganda, Tanzania, Djibouti, SUDAN, Malawi, Cameroon, Rwanda) through Qurbani Programme by scarifying 6267 animals ( 2953 goats/ sheep, 3139 cows and 175 camels). AKF implemented the Qurbani programme through 8 AKF field offices and 23 partner organizations.

AKF is planning to organize Qurbani programme in over 21 countries to benefit over 4 million individuals. AKF will implement the Qurbani programme through 8 AKF field offices and over 23 partner organizations worldwide. For an additional fee, we will also provide our donors with the opportunity to provide cooked meals, so that families that have no means of cooking meals can also enjoy meat on this day.

Qurbani (also known as Udhiya) is where Muslims sacrifice livestock as an act of complete and utter devotion to Allah swt. Every year millions of Muslims perform Qurbani in accordance with the Sunnah of Hadhrat Ibrahim (AS). This festival takes place between the 10th and 12th of the month of Dhul hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar. Through this act we commemorate the sacrifice of Hadhrat Ibrahim (as) and mark the completion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
Submission to the will of Allah (swt) and the willingness to sacrifice whatever is asked of us to achieve closeness to Him.
Hadhrat Ibrahim (AS) was one of the greatest Prophets of Allah (swt). He was commanded by Allah (swt) to sacrifice his only son. Yet, at the final moment, a miracle happened and his beloved son was saved. Eid ul-Adha is a celebration of the unwavering belief of this beloved Prophet of Allah (swt).
After the livestock animal has been sacrificed, its meat is divided into three equal portions - one for the individual performing Qurbani, one for the family of the Muslim who provided the animal, and one for the poor and needy.
The word Qurbani is derived from the Arabic “Qurban”, which has its root in the word, meaning nearness. The purpose of offering the Qurbani is to attain the nearness of Allah (swt). The act of Qurbani encompasses the very sprit of Islam.
The First ten days of Dhul Hijjah are the best ten days of the year and are loved by Allah (swt), just as the last ten nights are in Ramadan.
