Al-Khair Foundation took part in the annual AidEx conference and exhibition in Brussels held on the 16th and 17th of November 2016 and called on aid organisations to involve local populations to improve the impact of aid projects.
The Founder and Chairman of Al-Khair Foundation, Imam Qasim Rashid Ahmad, told the conference that local people had to be involved in decisions so that the benefits of charitable support were more pronounced. Sharing the best practices of Al-Khair Foundation, he added the refugees were directly involved in the implementation of the organisationās projects in Greece and Kenya. He further stated that NGOs should ācontinue to vigorously explore opportunities to collaborate with more local partners and bodies to ensure they don’t miss opportunitiesā.
AidEx is a leading platform for the international aid and development community to come together and improve the efficiency of aid. The two-day conference brought together NGOs and private companies from all over the world to discuss current developments and trends in the sector, as well as explore new products available in the market to enhance the work of NGOs in the humanitarian sector.
